The magic of information technology has made it possible for people all over the world to share information and experiences. However, misusing this kind of technology is extremely simple, as we have realized over the course of the web transition of our resort. One of the most popular websites in the regard of publishing reviews of travel related properties is TripAdvisor.com
Their logo claims "Get the truth, then go". However, how much of what is online on such websites is true?
We at Heritage make changes and modifications in our staff system based upon the reviews clients submit at their check-out. So when after about a month or so of inactivity, the administration visits the mentioned website, it is almost a shock to discover the negative reviews that have been published.

Determined not only to correct the staff but also to apologize to the clients involved, we ventured into a full length study of the case, only to discover that it had been published not by someone who had stayed at the resort, but by a competing resort located not so far away.
The review text mentioned various details, however much to our relief, at the end of the inquiry we were certain the Resort wasn't actually responsible and it was nothing but a negative publicity move by other hoteliers of the town.
It brings us to the juncture where, the sharing of information online has been misused gravely and there is absolutely nothing that can be done about it. (Tripadvisor refuses to assist us in removing false reviews)
